“Three Rescued in Austria Avalanche Drama”

Three individuals were rescued following an avalanche incident at a ski resort in western Austria. The avalanche occurred in an off-piste area of the Stubai Glacier in Tyrol around 9:30 am, leading to a large-scale rescue operation involving approximately 250 people, rescue dogs, helicopters, and support from German Bundeswehr soldiers and Polish mountain rescue teams.

Emergency services airlifted three injured skiers to a hospital in Hall in Tirol, with the severity of their injuries remaining uncertain. According to reports, six skiers were promptly rescued, while two others were successfully extracted shortly afterward.

Stephan Gröber, a member of the rescue teams, mentioned that several individuals with minor injuries had already been rescued, emphasizing the ongoing nature of the operation. Additional personnel were being dispatched to the Stubai Glacier from Neustift and Sölden.

Rescue operations concluded around 1:20 pm local time.
