An incident at Brentwood Park Primary School in Melbourne, Australia, has led to an 8-year-old boy being stabbed, prompting a lockdown on the campus. The alleged perpetrator, an 11-year-old boy, is currently under investigation for the attack that occurred before the start of classes on Thursday morning. Following the incident, both Brentwood Park Primary School and nearby Kambrya College were placed on lockdown at around 9 am.

Emergency services responded promptly, with paramedics treating the injured victim and a staff member on the school premises. Fortunately, both individuals sustained only minor injuries and did not require further medical attention.

The 11-year-old suspect, believed to be in Year 6, reportedly first attacked a teacher before targeting a Year 2 and a Year 3 student. Authorities discovered two additional kitchen knives in the boy’s possession. The child was questioned by the police before being taken to the hospital for evaluation.

In response to the incident, an education department representative stated that appropriate measures were being taken to address the situation involving the young pupil’s dangerous behavior. The school swiftly implemented safety protocols, with the presence of law enforcement and medical professionals on-site. Additional support and resources are being provided to both the affected staff member and student for their well-being.
