“Stay savvy: Navigating Budget Airline Baggage Rules”

Must read

Flying with a budget airline can be stressful due to the ever-changing baggage rules. It’s crucial to stay updated on the latest luggage regulations to avoid unexpected fees at the airport.

While most travelers focus on the size and weight of their luggage, there are additional restrictions to consider. Smart bags with built-in batteries and USB ports are not allowed in the hold on many airlines, including Ryanair.

For Ryanair flights, smart bags can only be checked as hold luggage if the lithium battery is removed before check-in. The battery must be carried in the cabin and placed in small baggage under the seat or on the passenger.

If a smart bag has a non-removable battery, it cannot be checked as baggage on Ryanair. Recently, Ryanair increased the size allowance for free under-seat bags by 20%, allowing dimensions of up to 40x30x20cm without weight restrictions.

Moreover, Ryanair announced a change in its baggage policy, extending the airport check-in and bag drop deadline to 60 minutes before departure. This adjustment aims to provide passengers with more time to navigate through security and passport checks, especially during peak travel periods.

In a lighthearted manner, Ryanair teased the idea of charging talkative passengers on early morning flights for disturbing others. The airline humorously suggested implementing fees for chatty travelers to maintain a peaceful flight environment.
