Nigel Farage’s wealthy benefactor, Christopher Harborne, owns a luxurious retreat known as Kamalaya on Koh Samui, Thailand. Described as a haven for personal growth and healing, the resort offers opulent accommodations such as the penthouse pool suite priced at £941 per night. Harborne, a cryptocurrency tycoon, uses Kamalaya as a philanthropic venture, emphasizing its role in supporting guests’ well-being.
Harborne, ranked sixth on this year’s Rich List with an estimated £18 billion fortune, acquired Kamalaya in 2021 and is dedicated to upholding its founding principles. The retreat, which promotes a technology-free environment, underwent a change in ownership in November 2021 when the previous founders sold the sanctuary to a new custodian passionate about preserving its ethos.
Former guests at Kamalaya include Sarah Ferguson, who praised the serene atmosphere of the retreat in her memoir. The sanctuary offers various personalized experiences like a 75-minute fire ceremony and spiritual guidance sessions to aid guests in navigating life’s challenges and seeking emotional renewal.
In another development, Nigel Farage faces scrutiny from the Parliamentary Standards Commissioner for allegedly failing to disclose a £5 million gift from Harborne. While Reform UK asserts that the money was a personal gift with no breach of regulations, Farage defended it as a contribution towards his security expenses and a token of appreciation for his Brexit advocacy.
Efforts to reach out to Christopher Harborne and Kamalaya for comments on these matters have been made.
