Young British Boxer Moses Itauma Knocks Out Franklin

Must read

Moses Itauma delivered a strong message to the heavyweight division by defeating Jermaine Franklin decisively. Itauma, with an impressive record of stopping 12 out of his 14 opponents, achieved what Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte couldn’t by securing a victory over Franklin, who managed to last until the fifth round, longer than any of Itauma’s previous opponents.

The 21-year-old British boxer showcased his skills by knocking down Franklin in the third round and expressed his satisfaction, stating that he attempted to end the fight early but adjusted his strategy to focus on body shots which led to the eventual knockout.

From the onset, Itauma controlled the fight by strategically targeting Franklin with well-placed punches to the body and head. Despite Franklin’s occasional counterattacks, Itauma’s speed and accuracy kept him ahead. In the third round, a powerful right hook sent Franklin to the canvas, setting the tone for the rest of the bout.

Itauma maintained his dominance throughout the match, maintaining his composure and consistently landing effective blows. Despite being taken into the fifth round for the first time in his career, Itauma secured the victory with a decisive left uppercut followed by a right hand that sent Franklin crashing to the mat.

In other matches on the undercard, Willy Hutchinson emerged victorious against Ezra Taylor, Nathan Heaney faced a tough loss to Gerome Warburton, and Brad Pauls pulled off a remarkable upset by defeating the previously unbeaten Shakiel Thompson in the ninth round.
