Construction workers in Lutoryż, Poland, stumbled upon a chilling discovery of 29 human foetuses while excavating a driveway on a private property. The find, which included medical waste such as paraffin blocks and microscope slides, prompted a thorough investigation by local authorities.
Following the discovery, a suspect identified as Magdalena H., a 57-year-old from Zamość, was arrested on charges related to the desecration of human remains and the improper disposal of hazardous materials. If convicted, she could face a prison sentence ranging from two to 12 years.
Authorities confirmed that the remains, which included human foetuses and fragments possibly from early-stage foetuses, were verified by medical experts. The property where the foetuses were found had been previously owned by the suspect, who worked as a pathologist.
Despite unofficial reports suggesting the discovery of at least 13 foetuses initially, subsequent findings hinted at the possibility of up to 30 foetuses being unearthed. The scene of the discovery was transformed into a forensic zone, with police tents and specialized teams conducting further searches and examinations.
