“Samsung Unveils Galaxy Z Fold 8, Beats Apple to Foldable Market”

Must read

Samsung has introduced its latest range of innovative foldable smartphones, potentially disrupting Apple’s plans. The tech giant from Korea revealed three new devices, led by the Galaxy Z Fold 8, featuring a fresh design concept.

Unlike previous Fold models, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 boasts a “passport-style” design, departing from the tall cover screen and square main panel. This redesign may seem unconventional when closed, but it offers a more intuitive experience when unfolded, providing a wider 7.6-inch display resembling a compact tablet for enhanced multimedia and gaming activities on the move.

This release holds significance as Apple is anticipated to launch its first foldable iPhone later this year, potentially adopting a similar design. Samsung’s early unveiling puts it ahead of its rival if these speculations hold true.

Beyond design, Samsung excels in other areas with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 being its thinnest and lightest Fold device weighing only 180g. The device features an improved hinge for durability and reduced risk of damage over time. The enhanced display incorporates Vision Booster technology and an anti-reflective coating for better visibility under bright lighting conditions.

Powering the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, supported by a 4,800mAh battery that charges rapidly, reaching 63% capacity in just 30 minutes. The device also offers a dual-camera setup, Gorilla Glass protection, and advanced Galaxy AI tools for improved user experience.

Available for pre-order starting at £1,699, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 beats Apple’s expected foldable iPhone in terms of release timing and potential pricing. Additionally, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, featuring significant upgrades in camera capabilities, hinge strength, and display refinement, starting from £1,899.

Completing the lineup is the Galaxy Z Flip 8, maintaining Samsung’s popular clamshell design but with enhancements in weight, thickness, hinge strength, performance, and camera features, starting at £1,149.
