An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 struck central Florida on Tuesday, shortly after the England team had arrived in the area for the World Cup campaign. The seismic event, measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale, originated off the west coast of Cuba, causing tremors in Orlando and various parts of Florida.
The National Weather Service reassured that there is no risk of a tsunami affecting the United States. Reports indicated shaking across Southwestern Florida, following the earthquake in the southern Gulf near Cuba, with the US Geological Survey downgrading the magnitude to 6.1 at a depth of 10km.
Aside from Orlando, tremors were also felt in Miami and Jacksonville, prompting the evacuation of several buildings for safety precautions due to the noticeable shaking.
