A school in Germany faced a serious situation today as 20 children were injured during class. The incident occurred at Raderthal School in Cologne, leading to nine children being quickly taken to the hospital. Authorities responded to the school after pepper spray was used, triggering a “mass casualty incident” alert.
Initially called to assist one person, emergency crews discovered multiple pupils experiencing severe eye irritation. It is believed that a 16-year-old student was responsible for deploying the spray. The local fire department spokesperson mentioned that what started as a report of one injured person escalated to several children suffering from eye irritation.
Reports indicate that the nine hospitalized children, aged between 12 to 14, are receiving further medical care. Both the fire service and police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
This incident follows a similar event two months ago when tear gas was sprayed at another primary school in Germany, resulting in multiple children needing treatment. In that case, a man targeted around 20 children in the school’s stairwell in Hanau, east of Frankfurt. Six girls and 14 boys experienced breathing issues, with two students requiring hospitalization. Authorities suspect the use of a pepper spray gun and have initiated an investigation.
