They mentioned that Arday, a gentle man who always sought the best in others, succumbed to the overwhelming campaign of misinformation and sustained abuse directed towards him for three years.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the death of a 41-year-old man in Battersea, stating that although the death was unexpected, it is not considered suspicious according to their initial assessment. Cambridge’s vice-chancellor, Deborah Prentice, expressed deep sadness over the news and extended sympathies to Arday’s family and friends during this challenging period.
U.K. Prime Minister Andy Burnham labeled Arday’s passing as a multi-faceted tragedy, emphasizing the need for contemplation rather than hasty judgments. London Mayor Sadiq Khan condemned the public shaming endured by Arday, asserting that similar treatment would not be faced by others in his position.
