“Steep Ravine at Bluestone Reopens with New Attractions”

Must read

A popular tourist spot in the UK has reopened to the public after being closed for two years due to storm damage. The Steep Ravine at Bluestone National Park Resort had been inaccessible to visitors since Storm Darragh hit in December 2024.

The extensive restoration efforts focused on rehabilitating the woodland areas damaged by the storms. Fallen trees and natural debris were intentionally left in the Ravine to aid in restoring soil nutrients and fostering new plant growth.

Visitors to Bluestone can now enjoy the revitalized Ravine, which features exciting new attractions such as the ‘Summit Flight’ zip line spanning 279 meters and the ‘Double Glide’ zip lines designed to gradually build confidence.

The reopening of the Steep Ravine also marks the return of Camp Smokey and Smokey Joe’s Shindig at the award-winning Pembrokeshire resort. Camp Smokey offers outdoor dining experiences with BBQ feasts and marshmallow toasting, while Smokey Joe’s Shindig provides evening entertainment with family sing-alongs and dancing.

James McNamara, the director of product and program development at Bluestone, expressed the significance of the Ravine to both guests and staff. The careful restoration process was done in collaboration with specialists to ensure the area’s safety and preserve its essence.

Summer getaways at Bluestone start from £400 for a four-night stay at a Caldey Lodge with an arrival date of June 8, 2026. The resort aims to immerse visitors in the natural beauty of Pembrokeshire while providing a modern and luxurious holiday experience.

Apart from Bluestone, Pembrokeshire offers a plethora of attractions such as the charming village of Saundersfoot, named the best seaside town in the UK for 2026, and the stunning Blue Lagoon, a picturesque wild swimming location.
