Sky has made a surprising announcement by bringing back the popular Sky One channel, which had been discontinued in 2021. This relaunch promises viewers a lineup of engaging comedy and entertainment shows, featuring new programs like The Dyers’ Caravan Park and Gemma Collins: Four Weddings and a Baby.
Alongside these new shows, fan favorites such as Rob & Romesh Vs.., The Paper, and Ted will also be accessible on channel 106. The return of Sky One will include the launch of Saturday Night Live UK later this year.
Replacing Sky Showcase and Sky Max, the revived channel will consolidate a variety of entertainment options in one place, simplifying the viewing experience for audiences seeking must-watch content.
Carli Kerr, the Managing Director of Sky TV & NOW, stated, “Our aim is to enhance the viewing experience for Sky TV customers by providing easy access to their favorite shows.” The channel is positioned as a unique destination with a dynamic lineup of content, featuring new Sky Originals like The Dyers’ Caravan Park, returning hits like Rob & Romesh Vs., and serving as the home of the highly awaited Saturday Night Live UK.
Sky One is set to launch on channel 106 on Tuesday, February 24, marking its official return. This announcement coincides with Sky’s upcoming major event, which was teased in an invitation to Mirror Online, hinting at significant developments for Sky TV subscribers.
The event is scheduled to take place in London’s West End, with Mirror Online covering live updates as the news unfolds. Speculation is rife about the potential surprises in store, as Sky typically reserves in-person events for major announcements. The event is expected to commence around 10 am on February 11.
