“Royal Crescent Tops UK’s Instagram-Worthy Streets, Yet Comes with Pricey Living”

Must read

Bath’s renowned Royal Crescent has been declared the most Instagram-worthy street in the UK, but residing there comes with a hefty price tag. Constructed in the 1760s and 70s, the crescent is famous for its elegant Georgian architecture and picturesque views overlooking the River Avon.

According to recent data from Halifax, properties on this street carry an average price of £590,786, significantly surpassing the national average home cost of £298,806. London’s Portobello Road, distinguished for its vibrant houses and vibrant market scene, secures the second spot, followed by The Street in the charming village of Castle Combe.

Edinburgh also makes its mark in the top 10 with Victoria Street and Circus Lane. Fortunately, living in an Instagram-worthy location doesn’t always demand a substantial budget. Elm Hill in Norwich boasts an average price of £235,822, while Eastgate Street in Chester stands at £263,811. The most budget-friendly street among the top 20 is Pier Road in Luss, where the average property price is £158,559.

High-end London destinations like Portobello Road and Kynance Mews command top prices of £1.66 million and £1.45 million, respectively. Lloyds’ rankings are based on the frequency of appearance on Instagram and TikTok, along with the number of location tags.

Amanda Bryden, Lloyds’ Head of Mortgages, commented on the trend, stating, “Social media is reshaping how people explore new places and envision their future homes. These streets stand out due to their unique charm, be it colorful houses, historic structures, or picturesque settings that compel people to share them.”

She added, “The diversity in locations is also noteworthy. While some are premium addresses, others offer accessibility, proving that finding a special place doesn’t always require a large budget.”
