An earthquake of 5.0 magnitude struck Sargaz in Iran’s southern Hormozgan province at a depth of 22km on Tuesday, June 9. The quake was also felt in the Kerman province. Fortunately, there have been no reports of damage or injuries according to the Mehr news agency.
In a separate event, a magnitude 6.1 earthquake occurred on Cuba’s northwest coast on Monday, June 8, shaking parts of Cuba, Mexico, and Florida. Additionally, a powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit off the southern Philippine island of Mindanao, resulting in at least 32 deaths and numerous injuries. Tsunami warnings were issued across multiple countries in response to the Philippine quake.
