One of the women guarding Christian Brueckner, the prime suspect in the Madeleine McCann case, gave a brief response when asked about the convicted rapist.
Brueckner, aged 49, is currently residing in a makeshift camp in the woods of northern Germany, accompanied by two women who identify themselves as his “helpers,” and a pit bull terrier. Following backlash from locals over his prison release, he relocated to the woodland area with a small tent.
Eager to leave Germany for a fresh start, Brueckner attempted a bold fundraising campaign on GoFundMe, which was promptly shut down shortly after its launch. Authorities are concerned that they may lose track of his movements, as his ankle tag might no longer signal his crossing of borders.
At present, Brueckner is under the watch of two women known as Mandy and Monda, who are positioned at his campsite along with a fierce dog. When questioned about their presence, they simply stated, “We are his helpers.”
Evidence of beer cans, fairy lights, and a makeshift screen at the campsite was observed, alongside a new bicycle. Brueckner’s legal team has advised him to refrain from speaking to the press. He remains the key suspect in the disappearance of three-year-old Madeleine, who disappeared in Portugal in 2007 when Brueckner was in the vicinity.
Although convicted of assaulting a 72-year-old woman in the region, Brueckner was released from prison in September under surveillance. Prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters expressed concerns about monitoring Brueckner’s movements across borders, stating that continued surveillance might be challenging if he leaves Germany.
Wolters emphasized the ongoing investigation into Brueckner’s involvement in the case, citing the possibility of crucial forensic evidence or new witnesses leading to a breakthrough. Despite Brueckner’s denials, there are claims from witnesses like Helge Busching, who alleged that Brueckner made disturbing comments about the incident at a festival in Spain.
