Police are in pursuit of a dog owner who absconded with her pet following a biting incident involving a woman. Law enforcement authorities have expressed concerns that the dog could pose a threat to the general public and are calling on individuals with any relevant information to step forward to help identify the owner. The victim sustained injuries from an Alsatian attack that occurred while she was on Warrensway in Woodside, Telford, at approximately 2:30 pm on Friday, November 21. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, provided initial treatment to the woman, and later transported her to a hospital for further care.
During the occurrence, the owner was accompanied by a second Alsatian, which was not restrained, and both dogs were not yet identified as they left the scene post-incident.
West Mercia Police issued a statement stating, “Officers are seeking information following a dog bite incident in Telford yesterday. An ambulance was dispatched at around 2:30 pm after an Alsatian attacked a woman walking along Warrensway in Woodside, Telford. The injured woman is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital.”
Inspector Gavin Williams emphasized the potential danger the dog may pose to the public and urged the public to assist in identifying the owner. He stated, “We are eager to locate the owner as we believe the dog could present an ongoing risk to public safety. We encourage anyone in the vicinity, individuals with doorbell camera footage, or local dog walkers who might recognize someone with two Alsatians to come forward.”
