Three security personnel working at a nightclub in downtown Winnipeg have been accused of assault following an incident that resulted in serious injuries to a Winnipeg Sea Bears player earlier this month, according to the police. Teddy Allen was hospitalized after being attacked at the establishment on the early morning of August 3, as reported by the Canadian Elite Basketball League team. The three individuals involved, aged 35, 37, and 58, were taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with assault causing bodily harm, as outlined in a police news release on Thursday. They have since been released on conditions.
Although the specific name of the nightclub was not disclosed by the authorities, it was revealed to be located on Main Street, situated between Portage and William avenues. Allen, who has undergone medical examinations and received treatment, is currently recuperating at home, as confirmed in a statement issued by the team on Thursday. Expressing dismay over the assault, Allen emphasized that such incidents should never occur to anyone under any circumstances, adding that he is determined to bounce back from this adversity.
