Nathan Fielder, the Vancouver-born comedian, writer, and director, has unveiled a teaser for his upcoming project following the latest season of “The Rehearsal.” The new documentary, titled “You Can See Everything,” is a collaboration with filmmaker Lance Oppenheim and focuses on the period leading to the 2023 imprisonment of Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of Theranos, who was convicted of fraud in 2022.
Fielder gained fame through his series “Nathan For You,” where he humorously dispenses bad business advice. The documentary, distributed by A24, showcases a vivid and eerie aesthetic in its trailer, featuring a close-up exchange between Fielder and Holmes. The intense interaction hints at the intriguing narrative to come.
The surprise screening of the trailer took place at the Telluride Film Festival, generating positive reactions from critics on social media. Director Daniel Howat described it as a “hysterical, shocking, insane documentary,” while music producer Erik Nordgren hailed it as the best film of the year.
The documentary’s anticipation is reminiscent of Fielder’s past uncomfortable interviews, such as the one with Hubert T. Lacroix on “This Hour Has 22 Minutes.” “You Can See Everything” is scheduled to hit theaters next month, promising an engaging and thought-provoking exploration of Holmes’s downfall.
