Mother seeks justice for son’s death in Spain, suspects foul play

Must read

A mother is advocating for a judicial review of her son’s death investigation in Spain, suspecting foul play. Sandra Adams was taken aback by the details in the police files, suggesting her son Brett Dryden may have been a victim of robbery in connection with a marijuana transaction before his untimely demise.

The dossier contains CCTV footage showing two individuals fleeing Brett’s residence carrying bags, purportedly containing a substantial amount of cash and marijuana. Both suspects, one of whom was observed keeping watch outside Brett’s home, were reportedly masked and wearing hats.

Despite these revelations and the failure to locate the suspects, the Spanish judge overseeing the case temporarily closed it in September, citing insufficient evidence to support suspicions of foul play or to pursue criminal charges.

Sandra, 56, disclosed the report prepared by the Civil Guard’s homicide unit in Almeria, raising concerns about its credibility. She expressed frustration at the lack of progress and alleged indifference from the authorities in resolving Brett’s case.

Brett, 35, operated a cannabis club in Mojacar, Almeria, and was discovered deceased in his residence with a head injury. According to the police report, he had arranged to meet individuals for a marijuana deal shortly before his death.

Witnesses mentioned Brett’s intention to meet a man, possibly of Albanian descent, for the transaction. Concerns had been raised about individuals of Roma descent linked to violence frequenting Brett’s club.

An autopsy in Spain attributed Brett’s death to a pulmonary hemorrhage, with traces of cocaine and cannabis found in his system. The investigation indicated a possible robbery during a drug deal, with the perpetrators absconding with valuables from Brett’s home.

Efforts to trace Brett’s missing phone led to dead ends, despite extensive mobile phone tracking by the authorities. Sandra and family members suspect a cover-up by Spanish officials to safeguard the region’s tourism reputation.

In her pursuit for justice, Sandra embarked on a poignant visit to the site of Brett’s death with loved ones, demanding answers and highlighting the need for a thorough investigation. She remains resolute in her quest for truth, seeking support from her local Member of Parliament to engage with the foreign office.
