A man was shocked when he discovered a doll instead of his alleged deceased child in a coffin following a claim made by his former partner. Two years ago, Tahira Edilka Montero informed her ex-partner, Duvier Alexander Morales, that their child had passed away just three days after birth on October 10, 2023. Upon inspecting the coffin, Duvier doubted the existence of the child, suspecting that Montero had staged a fake pregnancy and funeral for a doll painted to look like a newborn.
Montero, who was acquitted, faced accusations of fabricating a pregnancy and orchestrating a fake funeral. The child’s body, born in Panama City, could not be transported until December 14 due to country-wide protests, delaying the funeral until the next day. During the funeral, Duvier’s family noticed discrepancies with the deceased child’s attire, leading to the shocking realization that the coffin contained a doll disguised as a real baby.
Duvier lodged a complaint, expressing feelings of deception and questioning the authenticity of the pregnancy. Montero was cleared of all charges due to insufficient evidence, with the official reasons for the acquittal scheduled for announcement on December 5. Despite the verdict, Duvier and his family remain unsatisfied, seeking closure and considering a possible appeal.
