Must read

A man suspected of sexually assaulting a child in France was apprehended in Liverpool, according to the National Crime Agency (NCA). Sujanth Ketheeswararasa, a 30-year-old Sri Lankan national, was captured in the city center by NCA officers from the National Extradition Unit following an investigation that led them to him. The NCA revealed that Ketheeswararasa is accused of assaulting a young girl in France and is sought after by the French authorities.

Clare Meehan from the NCA’s Joint International Crime Centre emphasized the agency’s commitment to safeguarding children from sexual abuse. She stated, “There is no higher priority for the NCA than ensuring the safety of children. Through collaboration with domestic and international partners, we successfully tracked down and apprehended the suspect.”

Ketheeswararasa made an appearance at a London court on Thursday and has been kept in custody as extradition proceedings kick off. The 30-year-old is scheduled to virtually attend Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, November 27. A comprehensive extradition hearing is set for March 26, 2026.
