Must read

At least one individual has lost their life, and 10 others have sustained injuries following a vehicle crashing into a crowd in Japan.

The incident occurred in central Tokyo, where approximately a dozen people were struck before the driver attempted to escape on foot. An elderly pedestrian, reportedly in his 80s, was walking on the street during the collision and is presumed to have succumbed to the impact. Another woman in her 20s was found severely injured and unconscious, then promptly transported to the hospital, where she remains in critical condition. The tragedy unfolded around 12:30 pm on Monday in Adachi Ward of the city.

Authorities in Tokyo apprehended the suspect approximately 500 meters away from the scene, leading to his subsequent arrest.

The police are currently treating the case as a hit-and-run investigation. Additionally, they are exploring potential links between the incident and a recent vehicle theft at a nearby car dealership that occurred two hours before the collision.

This event follows another disturbing occurrence where a vehicle rammed into a group of students leaving a school in Japan, resulting in at least seven injuries. Emergency services were summoned outside Senbon Elementary School in Tokyo after a concerned citizen reported the incident. A 28-year-old individual named Yazawa Yuki was taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder.

Following the crash, the suspect, a resident of Higashimurayama City, confessed, stating, “I was overwhelmed with everything, so I attempted to harm someone and struck several elementary school students with my car.”
