A British travel company has gone into administration, leading to the cancellation of numerous trips. Groupia Ltd, a specialist in organizing group holidays such as stag and hen weekends, has ceased operations after being in business for 24 years. The company, headquartered in Bath, provided a variety of group holiday packages to various destinations in the UK and Europe, including Barcelona, Croatia, Prague, and Split.
Established in 2002, Groupia Ltd also operated under names like Groupia Golf, GoHen, StagWeb, Groupia School Trips, and Company Away Day, catering to over 750,000 holidaymakers. Their focus was on simplifying group travel by offering a range of options from spa retreats to golf trips and corporate weekend getaways.
Although the company facilitated split payments and logistics for group trips, enabling customers to enjoy seamless travel experiences, it has now ceased its booking services after more than two decades. Nigel Fox and Christopher Marsden from S&W Partners LLP have been appointed as Joint Administrators, as confirmed on the Groupia website. The company is no longer accepting new bookings but has arrangements in place with ABTOT to assist customers with existing bookings.
Customers with bookings made on or before August 31, 2026, will proceed as planned, with ABTOT ensuring the continuity of these events. For bookings from September 1, 2026, onwards, they will be canceled, and customers are entitled to refunds. Detailed refund procedures based on payment methods can be found on the company’s website.
The inception of Groupia dates back to 2002, originating from Simon Denning’s idea in 1999 to address the challenges of organizing group travel efficiently. With a focus on exceptional customer service and ease of booking, Groupia quickly became a popular choice for group trips at competitive prices.
