“Leaked Draft Agreement Reveals Iran’s Favorable Terms”

Must read

A potential peace deal in Washington could lead to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, but it appears to heavily favor Iran at the expense of President Trump, particularly regarding the nuclear issue. Leaked details of the draft agreement by Iran were swiftly dismissed by President Trump as “fake news.” The proposed terms include a 60-day negotiation period on nuclear matters, which experts have criticized as unrealistic to reach an agreement in such a short timeframe.

If the purported document is signed, Tehran stands to gain significant benefits, such as reparations totaling billions, the removal of sanctions, and access to previously frozen assets. The authenticity of the leaked agreement remains uncertain, as it may be a strategic move by Iran to counter Trump’s claims about settlements.

Reportedly, the draft settlement entails reopening the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days and halting Iran’s nuclear program. However, Iran is also pushing for Lebanon’s inclusion in any peace agreement and demanding non-interference by the US in its affairs. Notably, Iran’s backing of proxy groups like Hezbollah and the Houthis is not covered in the draft.

According to Iranian media leaks, the agreement includes a reconstruction plan providing Tehran with substantial funds for city rebuilding and the release of blocked assets. Trump expressed anger at the reported terms, asserting that they do not align with the agreed-upon written terms and criticizing Iran’s lack of good faith in negotiations.

A security source analyzing the document suggested that if genuine, it represents a unilateral American strategic retreat disguised as a diplomatic breakthrough, granting Iran relief from sanctions, access to frozen assets, reconstruction financing, and US withdrawal from Iranian borders. In return, the US would secure only the reopening of the vital Strait of Hormuz, while Iran’s missile program and proxy networks remain untouched.

The proposed deal would see the US relinquishing its objectives regarding Iranian nuclear and missile facilities in exchange for stabilizing the energy chokepoint. The 60-day discussion period on the nuclear issue is deemed insufficient to achieve a satisfactory outcome.

President Trump had earlier announced a peace agreement, but Tehran clarified that a final decision had not been reached due to new US demands and shifting positions. Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman indicated that while most of the agreement text was settled, finalizing the deal was hindered by evolving US stances.
