The UK’s top dog-friendly pubs with beer gardens have been announced just in time for the upcoming sunny weather. As temperatures are expected to soar to 30C in some areas, enjoying a cold pint with your furry companion in a shaded pub garden could be the perfect way to embrace the sunny climate.
To aid Brits in discovering these sought-after beer gardens, CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale in the UK, has unveiled a selection of nine dog-friendly pubs with inviting beer gardens across the country. These establishments, including Pub of the Year victors and Good Beer Guide participants, offer a delightful setting for summer outings and are spread throughout the UK.
Leading the lineup is Tamworth Tap in Tamworth, Staffordshire, positioned just half an hour from Birmingham. This pub features a charming historic courtyard beer terrace with panoramic views of Tamworth Castle, as well as ample seating both outdoors and indoors.
Tamworth Tap welcomes dogs until 7 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, providing ample time to relish the stunning views while savoring a pint from the Tamworth Brewing Company. Recognized as Pub of the Year in 2022, 2023, and 2025, it is also highlighted in this year’s Good Beer Guide.
Another standout on the list is The Bailey Head in Oswestry, Shropshire, named after the nearby remnants of Oswestry Castle. This pub boasts a sidewalk garden at its front, serving as an ideal spot for people-watching, and offers a rotating selection of beers to cater to various tastes.
The Bell Inn, located in Aldworth, a quaint village, secures a spot on CAMRA’s list despite having been named Pub of the Year in 1990 and 2019. Housed in a Grade-II listed building, this pub features traditional interiors and a spacious back garden with picnic benches, as well as additional seating at the front.
For a summer retreat, consider visiting The Travellers Rest in Skeeby village. This pub, recognized in the Good Beer Guide 2026 and Highly Commended in the Pub Saving Awards 2023, underwent a revival after a 15-year closure. It offers a tranquil garden room and an expansive garden serving a range of local cask beers.
In London, the Antwerp Arms in Tottenham stands out with its Georgian architecture and delightful beer garden cherished by locals. Featured in this year’s Good Beer Guide, this pub showcases local brews from Redemption Brewery.
With a range of nine delightful pubs on CAMRA’s list, there are ample options to suit every preference, and your four-legged companion is welcome to join in on the fun.
