Must read

Aldi is gearing up to launch 16 new stores in the upcoming months, with a detailed list of locations now revealed. The discount retailer will be expanding its reach to areas like Watford and Hoxton in London, Hattersley in Greater Manchester, and Balsall Common in the West Midlands.

Currently operating over 1,080 stores nationwide, Aldi has ambitious plans to reach 1,500 branches in the long run. The recent store openings are part of the company’s substantial £370 million investment in new stores scheduled for 2026.

Jonathan Neale, Aldi UK’s Managing Director of National Real Estate, emphasized the brand’s dedication to providing high-quality, affordable food to all consumers. The significant investment this year aims to extend Aldi’s value offerings to more communities, while also contributing to local economies through competitive wages for employees.

In addition to opening new stores, Aldi has also announced plans to enhance 25 existing stores across the UK this summer. Upgrades will include increased shopping space, energy-efficient features like fridge doors, and improvements to bakery, health and beauty, and fresh food sections in selected locations.

The ongoing investments in store upgrades are designed to enhance the overall shopping experience for customers and employees, aligning with Aldi’s sustainability goals. The supermarket chain has also introduced a fresh wave of price cuts on over 200 products this year, totaling over £200 million in investments, with £60 million in reductions recently introduced.

While Aldi continues to provide competitive pricing, customers are encouraged to compare prices across different retailers to ensure they are getting the best deals available.
