Lewis Hamilton Urges England Fans: Hold Off on ‘It’s Coming Home’

Must read

Lewis Hamilton has advised England football fans to hold off on singing ‘It’s Coming Home’ until the team actually wins the World Cup trophy. The racing star shared his thoughts with supporters of Thomas Tuchel’s squad at the start of the tournament in North America, also mentioning his support for another team this summer.

Hamilton, originally from Stevenage, has proudly represented Great Britain in his successful F1 career. However, he was given honorary Brazilian citizenship in 2022 and recently expressed his backing for Carlo Ancelotti’s Selecao alongside Harry Kane and the England squad.

Expressing his fondness for Brazil, Hamilton stated, “Brazil has always been my favorite team. I admired watching them play while growing up in England. The vibrant colors, rich culture, and highly skilled players always captivated me. Many of their players come from humble backgrounds, which adds a special element to Brazilian football culture.”

His remarks sparked significant reactions in the UK. Despite the buzz, during a media session before the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, held just before the World Cup kickoff, Hamilton reaffirmed his support for Brazil.

When asked about his World Cup predictions, Hamilton mentioned, “I don’t have a specific prediction as I don’t closely follow it. I will keep an eye on England’s progress. I hope they delay singing ‘It’s Coming Home’ until they secure the victory. I look forward to watching Brazil play in their iconic yellow jerseys.”

Hamilton has achieved second place in his last two Grands Prix and seems to be hitting his stride with Ferrari. While eyeing a potential maiden win for the team, he acknowledges the challenge posed by Mercedes and the need to close the performance gap with them.

Hamilton emphasized the importance of winning through performance rather than benefiting from others’ misfortunes. He highlighted the team’s collective effort and his enhanced mentality and fitness for this season.
