“Jet2 Unveils VIP Charter Service with Custom Boeing 737”

Must read

Jet2, a well-known provider of affordable flights and holiday packages, has revealed plans to enter the VIP charter market by introducing a custom Boeing 737-800NG aircraft with a reduced capacity of 76 seats, as opposed to the standard 189. This configuration aims to offer passengers increased legroom and a premium onboard experience resembling a business class layout.

The exclusive aircraft will be exclusively available to Jet2’s charter clients, rather than passengers on regular holiday flights. Trevor Caplis, Jet2’s Head of Charter and Airline Sales, expressed optimism about the new offering, stating that it is expected to appeal to sports, music, entertainment, and specialized group customers. The tailored service promises a minimum of 43 inches of legroom per seat, enhanced comfort levels, and upgraded catering options that can be personalized to suit individual preferences.

Jet2’s decision to introduce this premium charter product is in response to the rising demand from its expanding customer base, particularly those seeking privacy, comfort, flexibility, and an elevated travel experience. In a statement, the airline emphasized the introduction of this new service as a means to cater to evolving customer needs.

In a similar move, Wizz Air, a budget airline, recently launched a ‘budget business class’ service called Wizz Class. This premium option is available for booking during the reservation process and is limited to passengers seated in the front row of the aircraft, with only four such seats available per flight. Wizz Class includes amenities like an empty middle seat for added space, complimentary snacks and refreshments, and priority boarding with a 10kg trolley bag allowance. Currently, this service is accessible on selected flights to and from various destinations.

Among other airline innovations, Air New Zealand introduced economy-class bunk beds that passengers can reserve for ultra-long haul flights. On its 18-hour route between New York and Auckland, passengers can now book a four-hour slot in a specially designed sleep pod named ‘Skynest’. These individual pods offer privacy curtains, fresh linens, amenity kits, including eye masks and earplugs, and features like seatbelts, lights, and USB ports for added convenience during the journey.
