Fitbit Air: Minimalist Design, Maximum Comfort

Must read

Fitbit, known for promoting an active lifestyle for over 15 years, has introduced a new product under the Google umbrella – the Fitbit Air. Unlike previous models, the Fitbit Air does not feature a screen and resembles popular strap-style bands like Whoop. Despite the absence of certain functionalities like message reading and heart rate monitoring, the Fitbit Air boasts several advantages.

One notable advantage is its enhanced comfort due to its bracelet-style strap design, which outperformed competitors in a recent Google study. The Fitbit Air offers a week-long battery life and quick charging capability, providing a day’s power in just five minutes. Additionally, it comes with a new magnetic charger featuring bi-directional technology for convenient recharging without worrying about orientation.

Although minimalist in appearance, the Fitbit Air maintains essential Fitbit features, such as monitoring sleep patterns, activity levels, exercise routines, and heart rate. It can also detect conditions like AFib and notify users of irregular heart rhythms. The device includes various sensors like an optical heart rate monitor, accelerometer, gyroscope, oxygen saturation sensors, and a temperature sensor.

With no screen, all data is transmitted directly to smartphones, where the Google Health Coach can offer a comprehensive health overview. The Fitbit Air is fully water-resistant up to 50 meters and will be available in four colors – Obsidian, Fog, Berry, and Lavender, priced at £84.99.
