Global Motorcycle Journey Ends in Tehran Jail

Must read

Lindsay and Craig Foreman embarked on a motorcycle journey around the globe, unaware of the unexpected turn of events awaiting them. While passing through Iran, they were detained on espionage charges, leaving their family in the dark about their well-being for several months. After a prolonged period of uncertainty, their children were granted a brief phone conversation with them, yet their fate remains uncertain.

Currently incarcerated in Tehran’s infamous Evin prison, where Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe was also unjustly held for years, Lindsay, celebrating her 53rd birthday today, along with Craig, have resorted to a hunger strike. Their son, Joe Bennett, revealed that his mother views fasting as her only means of protest, having lost all hope in their ordeal.

Despite being repeatedly taken to court on what their family deems as baseless charges, Lindsay and Craig have not undergone an official trial. Joe expressed profound sorrow over the prolonged separation from his mother and penned a heartfelt letter, reminiscing about Lindsay’s vibrant personality and zest for life.

Richard Ratcliffe, who tirelessly campaigned for his wife’s release from an Iranian prison, likened the experience to an isolating ordeal, akin to the entire family being in solitary confinement. Craig’s son, Kieran, described the anguish of feeling powerless in securing his father’s freedom, likening it to a helpless descent into a pit.

As efforts persist to bring the couple back home, Joe shared a poignant letter urging people not to forget about their plight. The emotional message conveyed Joe’s deep longing for his mother and the stolen moments of connection with her and Craig.

In a plea to raise awareness and garner support for Lindsay and Craig’s release, a petition has been set up for concerned individuals to sign and stand in solidarity with the family.
