“Mother in France Drowns Newborn After Dispute”

Must read

A 31-year-old woman was apprehended by authorities in Bayeux, France, after she reportedly drowned her five-week-old infant following a dispute with the child’s father. The tragic incident unfolded when the parents argued at their residence on a Friday night, continuing into the early hours of Saturday. Allegedly, the father left the mother and the infant in the flat and walked away. Subsequently, the mother is said to have drowned the newborn in a bathtub on November 14 before sending a disturbing message to the father.

The mother, who left the deceased baby at the scene, was later located by police. According to prosecutors, she confessed to the crime after her arrest. The father returned home to find the mother missing, but authorities found and detained her shortly thereafter. Prosecutors indicated that the mother is expected to face murder charges and may be sentenced to life imprisonment if convicted for the tragic act against a minor.

Due to being under guardianship, the mother’s identity has not been disclosed. Arnaud Tanquerel, the deputy mayor of the town, expressed shock over the distressing event, emphasizing the rare occurrence of such incidents in the community.

In a separate case in the United States, a mother was arrested for the death of her baby, who allegedly perished after being left in a hot vehicle outside her workplace. Nyla Simmons, 22, faced charges of second-degree murder and cruelty to children after her infant, Novanni Truvan Simmons, passed away despite being rushed to a hospital in Albany. Simmons is currently in custody at Lee County Jail without bond.
