Virgin Media is introducing a significant upgrade to its TV platform, offering customers three new bonus channels for free. These channels, provided by Rakuten, include Rakuten TV Drama on Ch462 featuring popular movies like The Big Short and Gosford Park, Rakuten TV Comedy on Ch463 with films such as Big Momma’s House and The Internship, and Rakuten TV: Sci Fi on Ch464 for science fiction enthusiasts.
The addition of these channels will enhance the entertainment experience for Virgin TV 360 and Flex users, requiring no action from customers as the upgrade will be automatic. The channels are easily accessible through Virgin Media’s TV guide and can also be found using voice control.
David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, expressed excitement about the new streaming channels, emphasizing the value they bring to customers by offering a variety of entertainment options without any extra cost. With this enhancement, Virgin TV customers now have access to a total of 40 Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) channels, enriching their viewing choices with a diverse range of content.
While Virgin Media TV requires a monthly subscription fee, the addition of these new channels significantly boosts the platform’s content offerings compared to free services available elsewhere.
