Concerns arose regarding the brightness of the lights emanating from the White House lawn and Ellipse park, which reportedly caused distractions for pilots landing at Ronald Reagan National Airport.
The airport’s decision to halt all flights may have been influenced by a daring stunt involving a parachute team descending with an American flag near the Washington Monument. The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the ground stop at Reagan Airport without specifying the exact reason, only noting it was related to a “special event or air show.” Trump, who was returning from a golf outing and MAGA supporters’ dinner at Trump National Golf Club in Virginia, was not present during the incident.
