Tesco has alerted customers that £17 million worth of Clubcard vouchers are set to expire by the end of this month. The supermarket issues Clubcard vouchers every three months – in February, May, August, and November – and these vouchers remain valid for a period of two years.
The vouchers scheduled to expire were initially distributed in May 2024 and will lose their value after 11.59pm on May 31. Tesco shoppers earn one Clubcard point for every £1 spent in stores or for every two liters of fuel purchased at Tesco fuel stations. Points can also be accumulated through Tesco Bank and Tesco Mobile, with various point-earning opportunities available such as using a Clubcard Credit Card at Tesco or with Tesco Mobile services.
To receive a Clubcard voucher worth £1.50 to use at Tesco, a minimum of 150 points is required. Customers can maximize the value of their Clubcard vouchers by redeeming them with Rewards Partners like Pizza Express, Alton Towers, or Hotels.com.
If customers wish to extend the expiry date of their vouchers, they can do so by using a voucher for a small purchase on the Tesco Clubcard Rewards website, with the remaining balance credited back to their Clubcard account. By spending as little as 50p using a Clubcard voucher, customers can receive a significant amount of points credited back to their account, extending the voucher’s expiration date by two years.
Currently, Tesco boasts over 24 million Clubcard members. Shama Wilson, Tesco Group Membership and Loyalty Director, emphasized the importance of utilizing Clubcard vouchers for discounts on various services to save money, encouraging all customers to check their accounts for any remaining vouchers.
