A British travel company specializing in ski and spa holidays has shut down, prompting customers with booked package vacations to take necessary steps.
Established in 2011, Travel Bespoke Ltd operated under three names: Chalet Bespoke, Ski Bespoke, and Spa Bespoke, but its websites are no longer accessible. The company was headquartered in Midhurst, West Sussex.
Ski Bespoke’s active X page detailed the firm’s offerings of tailored ski trips to various destinations in Austria, France, Italy, Switzerland, Canada, and the USA.
The Air Travel Organisers’ Licensing (ATOL) financial protection scheme confirmed the company’s closure as an ATOL holder on May 29. ATOL has directly contacted affected consumers for potential claims. Customers eligible for ATOL protection but not contacted should email claims@caa.co.uk with booking details and supporting documents by the deadline of May 28, 2027.
ATOL clarified that bookings categorized as accommodation only, non-flight packages, and cruise-only bookings are not covered by the scheme. Customers can visit ATOL’s claims information page to determine if their holiday is protected and explore alternative refund avenues.
Travel Bespoke is among recent travel firms facing financial issues. Groupia Ltd, a long-standing company offering various brands like Groupia Golf and GoHen, recently went into administration after serving over 750,000 vacationers in its 24-year run.
All UK travel companies selling holidays or flights must hold an Air Travel Organiser’s Licence (ATOL), ensuring financial protection for customers. It is advisable to verify bookings with reputable firms to safeguard against potential insolvency issues.
In case of a travel firm going bust, consumers can seek refunds from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and should have travel insurance covering such situations. Credit card payments over £100 offer additional protection, with options for reimbursement through credit card companies or debit card chargeback schemes provided by major UK banks.
