“Join ‘Britain Talks’ to Unite Against Divisions”

Must read

On the tenth anniversary of the tragic murder of MP Jo Cox, the UK is urged to engage in dialogue. The country remains deeply divided, with elected officials facing ongoing threats. Recent incidents in Belfast, Glasgow, and Southampton have highlighted the rise of hate crimes resembling Jo Cox’s murder.

The Mirror introduces a new initiative called ‘Britain Talks’, a continuation of the ongoing National Conversation project. To kick off the conversation, Brendan Cox, Jo’s widower, and Katie Amess, daughter of the late MP David Amess, engage in a dialogue in today’s issue.

The public is invited to join ‘Britain Talks’ by sharing their perspectives on the world through a series of questions. By leveraging innovative technology developed in partnership with Die Zeit in Germany, participants will be matched with individuals holding differing viewpoints. Sign-ups for ‘Britain Talks’ involve providing an email address to receive updates on the project’s launch.

Participants’ email addresses will only be used to send newsletters related to ‘Britain Talks’ progress and new partnerships within civil society. This initiative aims to create a community that counters extremism and promotes unity over division.

Join the conversation and be part of the movement to reclaim a united country. Let’s build bridges, not walls. Your participation in ‘Britain Talks’ is crucial for fostering understanding and solidarity.
