Upon moving to Canada and marrying, he engaged in hunting with his father-in-law but found their hunting styles to be mismatched, leading to a natural drift in their shared activity.
Despite his reservations about firearms and hunting, Batinić’s son’s persistent interest led him to gradually introduce the young boy to the world of hunting, starting with activities like paintball and hunting training camps. As the son grew older, Batinić took him on hunting trips, emphasizing respect for nature and safe gun handling.
However, Batinić’s own interests evolved over time, leading him towards practices like yoga and a reduced consumption of meat. This shift in focus made him less enthusiastic about actively participating in hunting expeditions. When his brother-in-law expressed a desire for the son to join a hunting trip, Batinić saw an opportunity to step back from the hunting scene, opting to support his son’s endeavors without engaging in the actual hunting process.
During a hunting outing with his son, Batinić’s son finally successfully shot a deer after a series of missed attempts. The moment marked a significant achievement for the young boy, showcasing his determination and skill in the field. Despite his initial reluctance towards hunting, Batinić felt proud of his son’s accomplishment and the bond they shared through the experience.
