Singer and actress Selena Gomez is facing a lawsuit from investors who allege she engaged in fraudulent activities by neglecting her responsibilities to develop and promote her mental health startup.
The investors put in nearly $1.2 million in Wondermind Global, a venture launched in 2021 with the aim of enhancing users’ “mental fitness.” According to the lawsuit filed in federal court in Delaware, investors were promised active involvement from Gomez, a prominent figure in social media with over 500 million followers, as the marketing lead. However, they claim that Gomez and other company executives failed to deliver on their commitments, such as the creation of a mobile application.
The lawsuit states, “Gomez purportedly signed a contract committing to perform but failed to follow through.” The plaintiffs assert that the company did not have a viable business plan and fell short on fundamental obligations like timely payment of staff and vendors.
A spokesperson for Gomez has not yet responded to requests for comment. The legal action contends that investors were unaware of the company’s challenges until they were exposed in an online news report in September 2025. The plaintiffs are seeking to recover their investments along with legal expenses.
