According to Ryanair, the EES issues have led to significant disruptions, causing delays for passengers regardless of the airline they are flying with.
The airline highlighted that numerous airports, including popular holiday destinations like Lanzarote, Tenerife South, Alicante, Malaga, Milan, and Verona, are experiencing delays and long queues due to slow processing times and insufficient border control resources. Ryanair emphasized that despite months since the EES launch, many airports still lack functional self-service kiosks, leading to avoidable delays and heightened stress for travelers.
For families planning holidays to and from non-Schengen destinations or transiting through affected European airports, Ryanair advised allowing extra time for their journeys and being prepared for potential extended waits at passport control.
