Must read

A tragic incident resulted in the death of a 21-year-old woman who fell 130 feet into a ravine at a bungee jumping site in Limeira, São Paulo, Brazil. The woman, identified as Maria Eduardo Rodrigues de Freitas, was not attached to a safety cord when she was pushed off the platform by staff, as confirmed by local authorities. Shocking footage on social media shows Maria plummeting without any safety gear, causing witnesses to panic.

Prior to the accident, Maria had shared her excitement for the bungee jumping experience on social media, revealing the location and displaying her wristbands. In a heartbreaking post on Instagram just moments before her death, she humorously questioned who allowed her to take the leap off the bridge.

Following the incident, two men fled the scene but were later apprehended with the help of local law enforcement. Six individuals, including three men aged 27, 32, and 42, were questioned and faced charges related to Maria’s tragic fall, including homicide with implied malice. The Civil Police are currently investigating the case to determine further legal actions.

The Limeira City Council announced plans to lodge a complaint against the Brazilian federal government regarding the lack of safety measures at the site. Mayor Murilo Félix emphasized the need to hold responsible parties accountable for the absence of adequate protection measures in a well-known risky area.
