“Tesco Launches New Clubcard for 16-17-Year-Olds”

Must read

Tesco has introduced a new version of its Tesco Clubcard tailored for 16 and 17-year-olds, expanding access to approximately 1.6 million younger customers. Through this update, these teenagers can now benefit from a wide range of Clubcard Prices deals and accumulate Clubcard points that can later be exchanged for vouchers.

The typical Tesco Clubcard membership is reserved for individuals aged 18 and above, but the new digital Clubcard for 16-17-year-olds can only be accessed via the Tesco app or website. To enroll, teenagers must receive an invitation from a parent or guardian through the Clubcard account.

To initiate the sign-up process, the parent or guardian needs to navigate to their account settings, select “Invite to Clubcard,” and opt to send a registration link to the 16 or 17-year-old. This feature is exclusively visible in the latest version of the Tesco app. Notably, over 24 million households in the UK possess a Tesco Clubcard.

Shama Wilson, Tesco Group Membership & Loyalty Director, expressed enthusiasm about offering younger customers access to the Tesco Clubcard for the first time. Wilson anticipates that 16 and 17-year-olds will find the membership appealing, whether they shop at standard Tesco stores or express outlets.

Starting now, Clubcard members aged 16-17 can enjoy Clubcard Prices in-store, including the popular Tesco lunchtime meal deal priced at £3.85, and earn points that can be redeemed for discounts during their in-store shopping trips. Tesco shoppers earn one Clubcard point for every £1 spent in stores or for every two liters of fuel purchased at Tesco fuel stations.

Additionally, points can be accumulated through Tesco Bank and Tesco Mobile. For instance, using a Clubcard Credit Card at Tesco rewards five points for every £4 spent, or one point for every £8 spent elsewhere. Tesco Mobile customers receive one Clubcard point for every £1 spent on pay monthly bills or top-ups. A minimum of 150 points is required to obtain a Clubcard voucher, valued at £1.50 for Tesco purchases.

By partnering with Rewards Partners like Pizza Express, Alton Towers, or Hotels.com, customers can maximize the value of their Clubcard vouchers, potentially doubling or tripling their worth.
