Novak Djokovic and Emma Raducanu have had their paths revealed as the 2026 Wimbledon draw was recently disclosed. The top tennis players will compete at SW19 in the upcoming week for the esteemed title, following the Australian and French Opens earlier this year.
Djokovic aims to secure his 25th major championship and eighth Wimbledon title, aiming to end a three-year Grand Slam victory drought. Raducanu, on the other hand, seeks to add another major title to her name after her 2021 US Open triumph.
Despite never advancing beyond the fourth round at Wimbledon, Raducanu hopes to change that this season. Both players face tough competition, with defending champions Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek also in contention.
Raducanu’s first-round opponent is Croatian Antonia Ruzic, who has yet to progress past the opening round despite a solid singles record. Serena Williams will face Australia’s Maya Joint in her opener, with Joint being the world No. 53 at just 20 years old, posing a challenge for the 23-time Grand Slam winner.
In the men’s singles, Djokovic will kick off against Yibing Wu, currently ranked No. 99 and yet to move past the first round. Taylor Fritz and Jack Draper are set for an exciting opening match, while defending champion Sinner will face Miomir Kecmanovic as he pursues a second Wimbledon title.
Following the Wimbledon draw announcement, the Mirror dissects the matchups for the upcoming tournament.
