A cruel murderer who subjected a teenage boy to torture and dismemberment in a gang-related killing left a disturbing message for the victim’s loved ones and acquaintances.
Keane Mulready-Woods became embroiled in a drug conflict in Drogheda, Ireland, and was enticed to a residence on January 12, 2020, where he was subjected to torture and decapitated by suspected serial killer Robbie Lawlor. This savage act instilled fear in the community of the port town, marking a horrific escalation in its gang warfare.
The victim’s body parts were discarded in a sports bag from a car onto a sidewalk in Moatview, while his head, hands, and feet were later discovered in a burnt vehicle in Dublin. Keane’s murder incited a series of retaliatory assaults, culminating in Lawlor being fatally shot in April 2020. The 36-year-old hitman had a history of violent crimes and evaded capture after the killing, possibly driven by a distressing video circulated on social media.
In a previous incident in December 2019, Lawlor was acquitted of attempting to murder his ex-girlfriend’s new partner’s mother. Shortly after, he was attacked outside a gym by an individual linked to one of his suspected murder victims. The assault was recorded, with the aggressor warning of further repercussions. Lawlor’s personal belongings, including his gym bag and flip flops, were later stolen and flaunted by his adversaries.
Allegedly, Lawlor believed Keane was implicated in the killing of his brother-in-law, leading to the brutal treatment of the teenager, contrary to his initial intent of administering a mere punishment. Lawlor met his demise through a close-range gunshot in north Belfast, as authorities speculate he was set up for elimination by rivals or a drug dealer seeking self-protection.
Posthumous reports uncovered Lawlor’s habit of disguising himself as a woman to evade detection by law enforcement, often roaming north Dublin in feminine attire. Keane, at the time of his death, was under probation for intimidating a local mother over her child’s drug-related debts.
After the tragic event, mourners gathered at Holy Family Church, Ballsgrove, to honor Keane Mulready Woods. Father Phil Gaffney condemned the perpetrators for assuming the roles of judge, jury, and executioner, expressing outrage and sorrow over the heinous act of playing God with a young life.
