Victoria Beckham raked in £1million from music in the past year — despite not singing a note since 2012.
Posh Spice, 50, pocketed the fortune through royalties from her solo career and time with the chart-topping group, it is understood. However, she has not set foot on stage since she performed with the Spice Girls at the Olympics closing ceremony in London in 2012.
But the sum has reportedly helped the mum offset losses at her fashion and beauty firm Victoria Beckham Holdings. According to documents lodged at Companies House for the period ending March 2024, she now has £2.4million in her firm Moody Productions, which she set up in 1997 to look after her music earnings.
As well as her three studio albums with the Spice Girls, Victoria released a self-titled solo album in 2001. Posh now has 19,900 monthly listeners on Spotify, although bandmate Melanie C, also 50, has more than 659,000 on the platform.
The Spice Girls still have 12.6million monthly listeners on Spotify. Wannabe and Stop are the band’s most-listened tunes on the platform, founded in 2006 in Sweden.
And the Spice Girls have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling girl group of all time, beating The Supremes and Little Mix.
But in 2022, Victoria said she hadn’t joined the Spice Girls’ lucrative 2019 reunion tour in UK stadiums because she was focusing on her fashion and beauty brand, says The Sun.
Speaking at the time, she said: “I had so much fun being in the Spice Girls… I think that now, with everything else that I’ve got going on with my fashion and beauty line, and four children, I couldn’t commit to that.”
Last year, amid speculation the band were going to reunite again, reports suggested Victoria was “the final part of the jigsaw” – and that the 2019 lacked her pull. Yet, the mum of four, born in Harlow, Essex, “simply did not budge” at attempts to convince her to join the artists for a final hoorah, according to reports.
