Must read

A man crashed his vehicle into the barricades surrounding the White House estate. The incident occurred around 10:30 pm on Tuesday night (3:30 am Wednesday in the UK). Police are currently investigating the scene, and the area is under lockdown. The vehicle was seen near Donald Trump’s residence, with the driver being arrested and the car being examined. Details about the suspect, such as age and origin, have not been disclosed yet.

This incident coincides with a major $250 million renovation project initiated by Donald Trump at the White House. Construction crews have started demolishing the East Wing to make way for a new 90,000 sqft ballroom capable of accommodating nearly 1000 people.

The Secret Service confirmed that President Trump was inside the White House during the crash but clarified that the presidential complex was not on lockdown. The road leading to the gate will remain closed until the vehicle is removed.

Last year, there was a fatal incident where a driver crashed into the White House perimeter gate. The driver was found dead, and the incident was treated as a traffic accident with no threat to the president’s residence. The recent security breach occurred near the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, resulting in a lockdown of the surrounding area. The driver was swiftly apprehended, and an investigation is ongoing.

The Secret Service stated that the individual drove into the vehicle gate at 17th & E St, NW, Washington, DC, at 10:37 pm and was promptly arrested. The vehicle was inspected and deemed safe. Authorities have not disclosed further information about the driver or the motive behind the crash.

Local residents have urged everyone to stay safe and vigilant amidst the ongoing situation. Secret Service members have been observed near the White House, with some armed officers patrolling the premises. Police have officially confirmed the incident and assured that the investigation is ongoing.
