Must read

A 20-year-old student tragically lost her life after being hit by a hit-and-run driver while jogging near Lawrence Regional Airport in Kansas City. The victim, Elsa McGrain, a University of Kansas student from Omaha, Nebraska, was discovered by a passerby almost 10 hours after the incident. She was a pre-med student set to graduate in 2026.

Authorities found Elsa’s body early on Friday morning, and investigations led to the release of images of a white pickup truck without side markings, identified as a vehicle of interest. While no charges have been filed yet, a 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter.

Elsa, a member of Chi Omega, where she held the position of house manager on the sorority’s executive board, was mourned by her sorority sisters in a heartfelt statement on Instagram. Describing Elsa as a compassionate and genuine person, the statement highlighted her impact on those around her and her unwavering faith. The sorority expressed condolences to Elsa’s loved ones and remembered her for her kindness and sisterhood.
