“Unexpected Discount at Airport Lounge Cuts Price in Half”

Must read

After enduring a tumultuous airport experience with noisy children and a lengthy delay, my partner and I sought refuge in the airport lounge, only to discover that we were eligible for a significant discount, cutting the usual price in half.

Returning from Tenerife to Scotland, we were originally scheduled to arrive at 11pm but ended up reaching home at 4am due to the extensive delay. Fortunately, my partner’s membership with Monzo Premium unexpectedly granted us a discount on lounge access, a perk we were unaware of.

Although the lounge entry fee was quoted at €44 per person, the prospect of a peaceful environment away from unruly kids made the €88 total cost worthwhile. The added comfort of amenities like free Wi-Fi, showers with towels provided, and unlimited food and drinks, including alcohol, made the experience even more satisfying.

According to information from the Monzo Help page, Monzo Premium and Monzo Max members can enjoy discounted access to over 1,100 airport lounges worldwide for a flat fee of £24 per person per visit. This rate includes Max Family, with payment required per person per visit.

While our impromptu lounge visit did not involve pre-booking, some lounges offer the option with an additional cost of at least £6 on top of the discounted rate. Monzo emphasized the significance of having the physical Monzo card for the first visit, although providing the card number also sufficed for us.

For travelers considering their next holiday destination, the option of relaxing in an airport lounge might be a tempting prospect. Share your thoughts on your upcoming travel plans and lounge experiences in the comments below.
