Must read

A man from the United Kingdom was discovered deceased with gunshot injuries in St Lucia on Tuesday.

The individual, identified as Kenrelle O’Flaherty, aged 26, was a resident of Anguilla and was visiting St Lucia at the time. His body was found with fatal gunshot wounds late in the evening on Tuesday in Garrand, Babonneau, located on the North East coast of the island.

According to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, the Babonneau station received reports of a deceased individual along a road at approximately 10:50 pm. Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement officers found O’Flaherty with visible gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on-site.

It is reported that O’Flaherty, originally hailing from London and residing in nearby Anguilla, was on a brief trip to St Lucia. The duration of his stay on the island prior to the shooting remains unknown. Authorities have initiated a homicide investigation in response to the incident.

A police insider stated, “We urge anyone with information to reach out to the major crimes unit. Details regarding his purpose in the area and the individuals he was meeting are crucial for our investigation.”

In a separate incident, an elderly woman was discovered deceased on a secluded island after being inadvertently left behind by a cruise ship. Suzanne Rees, 80, was reported missing only when she failed to appear for dinner, several hours after disappearing on Lizard Island in Queensland, Australia.

The solo traveler had participated in an organized hike but fell ill, leading to her abandonment as the cruise ship departed for its next destination.

Relatives of Ms. Rees have criticized Coral Expeditions, a cruise company under the ownership of the National Roads and Motorists’ Association (NRMA) in Australia, for what they perceive as a lack of care and judgment.

Mark Fifield, the CEO of Coral Expeditions, expressed remorse over the tragic incident and confirmed ongoing investigations into the matter. The company is extending full support to the family of the deceased woman and collaborating with authorities during the inquiry process.
