“Trump Threatens Gaza Intervention, Urges Hamas Disarmament”

Must read

Donald Trump has issued a threat to enter Gaza and eliminate Hamas shortly after the ceasefire began. The US President accused Hamas of causing deaths in Gaza without specifying the incidents. Trump stated on Truth Social that if Hamas persists in causing casualties in Gaza, contrary to the agreement, the US will be compelled to intervene. He emphasized the need for Hamas to disarm promptly, warning of swift and potentially forceful action if they fail to comply.

Recent reports have highlighted clashes between Hamas and Palestinian factions supported by Israel, disrupting the ceasefire. Both sides have accused each other of violating the agreement since its implementation. A senior Hamas official accused Israel of killing 24 individuals in Gaza post-ceasefire, alleging Israeli attempts to undermine the agreement through ground violations.

The situation in Gaza has been tumultuous, with power struggles and violence escalating. Local families and armed groups, some backed by Israel, have taken advantage of the chaos, exacerbating the region’s humanitarian crisis. In a recent incident, five Palestinians were killed by Israel for crossing the ceasefire line, raising concerns about possible extrajudicial executions.

Medical sources have reported signs of torture on bodies returned to Gaza by Israel, indicating potential unlawful executions. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ spokesperson expressed deep concern over the reports, emphasizing the need for accountability for all violations of international law during the conflict.

In response to the ceasefire terms, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insisted on the return of all hostages’ remains, stressing Israel’s unwillingness to compromise on this issue. Hamas claimed compliance with the ceasefire terms by handing over the bodies they had access to. Additionally, Israel’s Foreign Minister hinted at the potential reopening of Gaza’s Rafah crossing with Egypt, signaling progress in regional relations.

Trump also disclosed plans for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to address the Ukraine conflict, with Budapest, Hungary, as the proposed venue. The leaders aim to build on progress made during a recent phone call, preparing for a face-to-face meeting following previous diplomatic engagements that did not yield significant breakthroughs. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán expressed readiness for the upcoming summit, while US officials led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio are scheduled to meet Russian counterparts in the near future to further discussions.
