“Trump Suggests NATO Shoot Down Russian Planes”

Must read

During a meeting with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky in New York City at the United Nations General Assembly, Donald Trump suggested that NATO should consider shooting down Russian planes if they enter allied airspace. The US president expressed his support for Ukraine’s efforts in the conflict, praising their bravery and resilience in the face of a prolonged war with Russia.

Trump’s remarks followed a recent incident where Russian MiG-31 fighter jets violated Estonian airspace before being escorted away by NATO Italian fighter jets. NATO has issued warnings to Russia, emphasizing their readiness to defend NATO territory and take necessary military action if required.

In a separate incident, Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk declared that Poland would not hesitate to shoot down any Russian fighter jets violating its airspace. This statement came after Russian drones breached Polish airspace, prompting a swift response from Polish authorities.

During the UN General Assembly meeting, Trump highlighted the threat posed by nuclear weapons, particularly singling out Iran as a key concern. He reiterated his commitment to addressing this issue, emphasizing the importance of preventing Iran, a major sponsor of terrorism, from acquiring nuclear capabilities.

In response, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei denied any intention of pursuing nuclear weapons, stating that Iran does not require them and will resist external pressure regarding its uranium enrichment activities.
